Character notes: Jason originally served aboard the warship Red Cloud, as one of a number of pilots. When the Exile needed a new pilot during the run-up to the attempt to take Waga Chun back from the Zatvians, the Red Cloud's captain "loaned" Jason out. Since then, Jason has served aboard the Exile, although it is an open secret that he is still reporting to his superiors aboard the Red Cloud.

Jason is extremely literate, and reads and speaks a number of languages. He spends most of his spare time reading, so he remains something of a mystery to his crew mates.
